Mads Mikkelsen’s STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Character Revealed?

We recently reported that actor Mad’s Mikkelsen had been cast as a major player in the upcoming movie, ‘Star Wars: Rogue One‘. What we didn’t know at the time was who exactly he would be playing. Production is now under-way on Godzilla director Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars movie, but aside from the basic premise and a first look at most of the principal cast, (plus some pretty far-fetched rumors) we haven’t really had any official details on the plot or the characters.

Now thanks to a signed poster, we do have one little tidbit that might be of interest: It seems the character Mads Mikkelsen will be playing is named Galen. Not a massive reveal on its own of course – but that is also the real name of the main character from the Force Unleashed video games, Starkiller. Now obviously it’s highly unlikely that Mikkelsen is actually playing Galen Marek, but it could be a little homage to Vader’s incredibly powerful secret apprentice.

Aside from his name, Mikklesen has also revealed that his character will not be a villain, and he will play a “very important” role in the story.
